Romeo & Juliet

The story of Romeo and Juliet has been told countless times, rooted in Shakespeare’s interpretation of a young tragic comedy that has remained a timeless classic. We have taken the basic tale and reworked it in four different artistic interpretations from each of our team members, using AI to generate our images in order to test the prowess of what the technology of our time can add to these stories. Explore each of the takes on the classic story below, and compare the stories and their similarities using the Table of Contents.

By Erin Morgan

“A modern telling of Romeo and Juliet, straying from romanticism and exploring new, gruesome and horrific routes of forbidden love with a modern high school battleground.”

By Julia Pimmel

“Picture it: 1950’s New York City, and the classic tale of Romeo and Juliet. A love that transcends a crime family feud, even though it can’t outlive it.”

By Rebekah Shook

“A telling of Romeo and Juliet that explores how passion doesn’t always mean good and discerning between the pull of feelings and rationale. This version has a classic style that’s familiar when we think of Romeo and Juliet. It follows the original story in its original time period, but retells it with modern day experience so that it is familiar and heartbreakingly relatable to young girls today.”

By Sydney Wissmar

“Four tellings of Romeo and Juliet all in modern times.”
